Aster Foundation is announcing the name change of Aster Protocol to Star. With this new name, the project will continue making Web3 available for everyone everyday across social and commerce applications.

Star has two main objectives, building an open universe for the users to connect to each other, whilst encouraging their creativity to illuminate brightly in the era of Web3.

This iteration of Star includes an identity aggregation protocol known as Aster Protocol. Furthermore, cross-platform Web3 applications are being built on the protocol. Star is developing an omni-chain Web3 Star Name Service (“SNS”) alongside the development of a link-in-bio tool (“Linkee”). Linkee will link to Web2 social media accounts & DIDs on an aggregated landing page.

Star will soon be launching a Web3 version of Shopify & marketing suites that help creators monetize every stage of their content journey. This Web3 version of Shopify will play a significant role in the evolution of content creation, ushering in a new chapter in the tokenized future.

Leading an overarching social ecosystem and accelerating the ownership economy, Star will offer protocols and features that enable people to manage their online presence, create and easily share content that maximizes their reach across Web2 and Web3.

You can learn more about how Star will unlock new opportunities at star.co and follow company news via Twitter @star_protocol.
